Performance – The DWE7491RS performs very well. The rack and pinion fence rails are the key to this saws accuracy and overall performance. The fence is easy to adjust and stays parallel to the blade. The unique fence design rides on rails at both the front and back of the saw, eliminating the possibility of fence drift. This saw also comes with a miter gauge for cross-cutting. The miter gauge isn’t all that great but it gets the job done.

A table saw is only as good as its blades. There are a variety of saw blades with varying diameter, arbor size, number of teeth, kerf size, speed, application, and material. Most common table saws use 10 or 12” saw blades with an average number of teeth at24 to 80. And when it comes to the material used, carbide and carbon steel are the most common however you will also find very strong diamond blades.

With a maximum cut depth of 3.125 inches and a 32.5-inch rip capacity, the 10-inch blade of this DeWalt table saw handled all the relatively light-duty board ripping I needed from it, but I also tested it against a variety of plywood and other board sizes to assess its capability. The 15-amp motor is fairly standard for this contractor or job site level of table saw, and none of the boards I threw at it caused it to bind—good news, as binding is at best annoying and at worst dangerous.

I’ve had this table saw about a year and have had very good results making precision cuts with the rip fence. Ease of use has been great. Get it out set up and get to making cuts fast. I am not making a daily living with it so I may not notice some short comings that daily users would. Maybe like with hand tools, someone won’t notice the difference between Snap-on or Craftsman wrenches until you make a living with them.

Now I am supposed to box it up (an enormously difficult task in itself because how tightly it is packed), somehow pick up a 110lb 4′ x 3′ x 3′ box (with weak cardboard that tears if you use the included handles) on my own to put it into my vehicle, drive to the nearest store (an hour round trip), somehow get a 110lb 4′ x 3′ x 3′ box out of the vehicle, lug it into the store, wait in line to return it, then presumably wait while another one is shipped to me (the local store has none of these in stock).

Thanks for the response. I went to Lowes and checked several fences on Dewalts and they are all bowed about the same. But I measured the bow using feeler gages and it’s only about .008 inch, so not really a big deal. Interestingly, the Bosch jobsite saw was perfect for that particular feature. Like you said, stock will hit at the bottom of the fence and for very fine work, I’d probably be using the fence extension which is flat. I just made a picture frame today which requires accurate cuts and along with my Incra miter gage, the saw did a beautiful job. I do love how easy the fence is to move and adjust. I used my dado stack which worked fine. I also made a zero clearance throat plate. What a great tool, all in all.

As with many table saws, the included plastic miter gauge isn’t nearly as precise as the fence and so I made angled cuts on a miter saw. If you are hoping to use this saw in lieu of a miter saw, you’ll probably want to invest in a higher-quality third party miter gauge. You can also attach a vacuum to this saw’s dust collection port for easy cleaning.
I only have two minor concerns with this saw but they are so small that this saw still gets a 5 star rating.  DEWALT could step up the game on the dust collection if they offer users an effective way of using the dust port on the blade guard. Maybe they offer an accessory splitter and hose package. My other concern is the plastic parts on the fence where it connects to the table. I suspect those parts could break when they are cold if you remove the fence and toss it in the trailer or back of your truck. Again, these are minor in comparison to the rest of the saw (food for thought on the next design).

At the Dewalt media event I inquired whether an accessory power cord was in the making, so users could plug into a power outlet for AC current.  Having both options would be nice. The dual option would be handy on construction sites with no power.  On these sites contractors often compete with extension cords for a generator outlet.  Having a cordless option for these situations would be amazing, later on, when the house has power, you could plug in.

The first ever brass-geared worm drive table saw was first developed by Skilsaw to meet the growing needs of woodworkers on the go. Call this a sophisticated portable table saw, the Skilsaw Worm Drive Table Saw is the first ever saw that can be set up anywhere and once you are done, it can be folded and packed away. This foldable and compact table saw has made it possible to cut materials faster even in remote construction sites.
This stand is one of the easier stands to set up that I’ve used. To fold the stand up you simply stand the saw up on it’s end. Then the 4 legs fold down by releasing easy to use levers. It takes less than a minute to set the saw up and there are no tools required. The large wheels and comfortable height handle make rolling the saw and stand super easy.

A solid, safe table saw is the cornerstone to any efficient job-site or worksite. Dewalt wants to close the gap on a cordless job site by introducing several cordless tools including a brand new table saw. We tested the Dewalt Flexvolt   8-1/4” table saw on our job site and in our shop and were impressed with its portability, versatility, performance and power.

DEWALT’s recent release of three new job site table saws is capped off with the all new DWE7491RS. This 10″ job site table saw with roller stand is their premium offering. We recently also reviewed the DWE7480 and DWE7490X which were released with this saw. The DWE7491RS is very similar to the DWE7490X except that it has a larger rip capacity and a much nicer stand.
Professionals and DIY enthusiasts who value excellent woodworking know that a table saw is the most important investment they could ever make. The tool doesn’t just help you make precision cuts to make your work easier, but it also reduces woodworking expenses. Moreover, some of these tools can even be optimized to cut other materials, like plastic! The question we'll address today is: which are the best table saws out there?
The DEWALT DWE7491RS is a very good job site table saw. I’d even go so far as to say I think it’s the best overall job site + mobile stand option out there. This is a pretty bold statement considering I’ve been a huge fan of the Bosch saws for years. My assessment is based on the combination of power, quality build, cut capacity, and an effective mobile solution.

The roller stand that comes with the DWE7491RS is extremely effective and easy to use. One of my biggest concerns when buying a job site table saw is mobility and ease of set-up for one person. Weighing 90 lbs, saws like these can be a serious lifting hazard for one person. So having a mobile solution that allows a single worker to set this saw up is a hugely important issue for me and many other users.

Upon unboxing, I wasn’t sure how much I cared that the built-in stand for this saw had wheels, but, boy, did I ever use them. If weather rolled in, the saw folded up and rolled to shelter in the garage. This was extremely convenient since I did my cutting in the driveway and stored the saw in the garage overnight. This maneuverability might be less useful to you if you plan to use the saw primarily in your garage where you could build or buy a semi-permanent stand rather than use the fold-up stand of this model. There is also on-board storage for the power cord and the loose parts such as the miter gauge and guards, making it completely self-contained.

The “Work Support / Narrow Ripping Fence” option is a nice addition and one that I have come to enjoy on Dewalt saws.  When used as a support feature it helps keep boards wider than the table top from dipping down when the fence is extended. When used as a narrow rip accessory it provides an extra 2-inches of clearance between the blade and the fence. This helps keep you hand further away from the spinning blade.
Typically sold for around $600, the DeWalt isn’t exactly cheap, and you can find similar portable table saws for less. DeWalt itself has several other jobsite table saws for lower prices, though they either lack a stand or feature a flimsier one. However, if you value a sturdy stand and the ability to wheel the collapsed unit around, it’s easy to justify the modest extra expense for this saw.

Let me start by saying thank you for all of the in depth reviews you provide all of us. I find them extremely useful when making new purchases. Regarding the power adapter issue with the 60v table saw, I own the Dewalt DCV581H 18v/20V MAX Cordless/Corded Wet-Dry Vacuum and it does not require a special adapter that costs over $100, like the FlexVolt Miter Saws. Seems like the 60v tablesaw or the 120v miter saw could simply come with a cord, just like the vacuum.
